Pigeons, pigeons, pigeons everywhere

Wherever you look, there are pigeons. Even in news reports from far-flung cities, you see them waddling around in the background.
Does anybody have some kind of vague idea as to how many pigeons there are in the world? I mean, not exactly - just a rough ballpark figure, to around the nearest, say, 5 or 10 million!!

How many grains of sand on a beach? All I know is, there are a lot of both.

Well, they is no fear of the little critters becoming extinct in the near future thats for sure. Unlike the little mouse thing with big ears that was on the news a few minutes ago.

Awwww!!!!!! I'd like one of those huge tortoises. It'd probably outliove any grandchildren I might have, but I think they're beautiful!!!!

I saw a couple of them when I was in Kenya a few years back. They were huge. And there was a little kitten running around them. It was quite a funny sight! lol

Sorry about tat typo back there - and yes, I've seen them in the wild as well. I was delighted to find loads of little ones in Turkey!!!!

Turkey is famous for its turtles. I would love to see (from afar of course) loads of them coming up from under the sand. I also wish that people/tourists would leave them in peace. They have a bad enough time once in the sea with all the sharks and large fish feeding on them. Poor little things.
