Could be Wheat and Chaff- but there's an extra E
I think you spell chaffe with the e - well done

Thanks SpiderPig & Quoi, would never have got that
Chambers Online does not have an extra "e" at the end of "chaff", neither does my Concise Oxford, so I think it's a mistake by the compiler.
I'm sure Chaff is spelt without an E,

And putting

" separate the wheat from the chaff "

into Google gets 128,000 hits

" separate the wheat from the chaffe "

gets 601 hits

But, if that's the lettering the setter used- I'd go for what they're expecting !
