I searched a long time for this one and couldn't even find a National Museum of Performing Arts website, but somewhere, I can't remember where, I came across the answer �60-�100. Why do you want the answer in shillings? (1200-2000).

Seems rather a lot! That would be over �5000pw in today's money
I agree, I found it hard to believe, but they were leading stars of their time.
