Hi, I need the answer to this question for a quiz:

What 'album' was used during the Art Nouveau period by many high class French and German designers to decorate all sorts of things from knives and forks to furniture?

Possibly Le Japon Artistique which was a journal published by Bing .
He was an art dealer in paris and promoted a lot of the stuff by Morris ,Tiffany ,Lalique etc .
But it doesn't sound quite right ..I think that it was a sort of magazine rather than an album .
By "album" I would think they mean a sort of pattern book .

I'm not sure. Album is shown in quote marks in the question, so I thought it might be a little misleading. It's in a Christmas quiz so it is possible that the answer might have something to do with Christmas, although not necessarily 100%.

Thinking about this from another angle ..there was an art movement called De Stijl but it wasn't art Nouveau more sort of geometrical .
However there is an "Album "by a group called The White Stripes titled De stijl which just translates from the Dutch as "The Style " ..so perhaps that is what the original designers album was called .

Jugendstil was the name Germans gave to Art Nouveau

there is an album (of music) called 'Jugendstil' that reached the charts
