There is a Scottish word caoin which has that sort of meaning. Is your "E" right?

I'm pretty sure it is right - the clue down that provides the e is the aurora that creates the Northern Lights and i've put BorEalis.
I'll keep looking then and see if I can find anything else.
the word you are looking for is creen it means to hum or or lament i got this from an old scottish dictionary hope it helps
