loose change jar

Is having a 'loose change jar' a man thing?
I've got one which is used for wee treats when it's full. However, I've only ever known men to have such a thing. Ladies, do you have one? if not, why not?

i have one but only for coppers, i hate them being in my purse, when full i give it to my wee niece who then thinks she's got LOADS of money lol

i have two one for 10/20/50p and the other s for 1/2/5's when they get full i'll change em up and then spend it, probably in the pub!

I know several people, men and women, who have one. I also know some -- again both male and female -- you have saving tins which have a slot in the top but which can be opened only with a tin-opener. They save quite a bit for holidays, Christmas and treats by that method.

My husband and I shared out our loose change jar when we split and there was nearly 60 quid in it so they're worth keeping :)
I have a loose change pig which is used to prop the door open and I dip into it for things like sweeties and if my train fare is a bit short.

I save silver coinage in mine, which becomes holiday spends. There is about �300 for me to fritter away next month. A few mates do the same, non females though.

I keep all my coppers & then take it to the market where the stall holders change it up for me - some of them are very happy to take it & saves them going to the bank.

I have two,at the moment they have �29.00 and �54.00 in them,one is for my 10 year old son to put in his bank and the other is one I have been putting into for the last few months so I can buy premium bonds for my grandson who is due to be born any day now.

we have 2. the one with coins 50p or less goes to little CRX and the �1s and �2s is for mr CRX and me.

We cashed them in about 3 months ago and little CRX got �200+ and we managed �360.

I must admit that its mainly mr CRXs money that goes in, but thats purely because he hates having change in his pocket so leaves it lying around and little CRX puts it in the basket with all the change.

Yes I have one for the odd decimos of euros, which are a total nuisance, and then <<please notice my halo >> I donate it to the local Chaity shop - there is only one!

My son has a big loose change container , but so does my sister . I don't have one simply because I never seem to have any spare change , and even if I did I would be taking it out again before it had chance to hit the bottom .

I have 2 loosed change cups -one for coppers mainly and the other for euros.

I give all the change to the Sally Army when they have their yearly drive -I also collect for them-but all in all it comes to maybe about �20 and when I am collecting I notice that others do the same.(bit of a nuisance for them counting but daresay they just seperate the coins and the bank weighs them)

I love all the outdoors/camping, tool/DIY related, Starwars, military/army, houseware stuff.

A trip to a focus or such I find quite interesting, storage is a favourite as I love everything all tidy and in it's place.

So money jars......no I haven't got one but have been looking for one for ages, as I rent I dont want a proper glass one right down as the removal firm with probably drop it in the street when I move house. But I have seen plastic enlarged beer/cola bottles for kids, but it is one of those - 'cant find one when I want one' things as a result I have a carboard box filled with coins. Anyone seen one?

I have one for copper and 5 pence pieces. Mine is an old sweet shop jar.
Saving like this, you can amass a huge sum of money!!!

Yes, I have an enormous Bell's Old Scotch Whisky bottle that takes pride of place by the fire - which my husband fills up for me!

The only problem being emptying the thing, as it weighs a ton, plus the bank tends to get a bit touchy having bags of one and two pence coins to count......can't think why.

I have one and it's got a miserly �3.33 in it. That's because i can't keep my mitts out the jar.

I tried one of those tins that novalis mentioned but still couldn't save, i would shake it upside down and use a knife to try and get at the money. An hour and 6pence later i got the tin opener. :))

I used to have a jar for coppers and 5p's but these days its my daughter who seems to collect my change!
