Birds and bees christmas quiz

Help I am totally baffled by this quiz. I have got a lot of the answers but I really don't know what to do next. Will someone please take pity on a bemused old bird?

The are numerous sets of question and three letters of each answer are provided. Apparently once all the answers have been identified then a bird can be identified - if I have understood the instructions


It is very difficult to explain unles you are doing or have done the quiz

Carey Street is for someone who is BANKRUPT

These seem to fit, but I'm not getting the birds and bees bit yet.

The answers are divided into 2 categories - birds and bees.

The bees are words that begin with B.

The birds are found by taking the 1st letters of the other words.

When you've completed a bird, there is a line where all three words begin with a C.

All the birds have the same 'shape', so it will be quite useful if you plot where the Bs ( or the birds) are in any one section, because the same pattern is repeated for all of them. (I'm not quite sure about the last one - I seem to remember it was slightly different)

The best I can do here is identify the words. As regards findng birds and bees I am baffled also.

Greens = CABBAGE
One-eyed monster = CYCLOPS
Attends Charterhouse School = CARTHUSIAN
On both sides = AMBIDEXTROUS
Cross safely = NEGOTIATE
Carey Street = BANKRUPT
