PS
It was in 1986 but dont know name
Margaret Francis

Have you done the March 12th one?
I am beginning to find that several questions dont really have clear answers - the animal in space, the condom one, the eurovision one - how about you
Question Author
smouse, i know I should have no reason to doubt your answer, but I've been unable to cross-check that answer on any website. Did you find the answer on a website, or did you rely on a previous posting, or your own impeccable knowledge? As for the March 12th answer, one has been posted on my previous posting, but that seems equally obscure, and I suspect I may have to go with that (it will come up if you submit the question as if you were posting the question yourself, then check previous answers) but I suppose the compiler has to add a few questions to catch us out. I have had several quizzes returned recently with mistakes I've made, so this year I'm checking evertything out-time permitting, but I don't want to distrust my friends either!
animal in space i think was a dog Laika in 1957

yes I agree on that one fordward. Have you got an answer for March 12th & pools winner? I know its early days yet, but the weather here has been miserable most of the week so I decided to get on with the quiz.
I did find it but it took me ages as they werent even named on the littlewoods site - I'll do and see if I can find it again

I agree with the dog but look at this
http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_was_the_first_a nimal_in_space

likewise the condom - there are about 6 different materials listed

off to look for Margaret Francis for you now

Cant remember what it was now but saw the suggestion for 12th March - something to do with New Zealand but didnt feel it answered the what first happened part
interesting page smouse, food for thought but i will stick with my dog, as for the condom im going for the linen one(dont fancy trying it though)
Havent got anything yet for the pools winner or the 12 poodledoo
must compliment you on tracking down the pools winner smouse

Thanks smouse. It must have taken you ages to find that site, and I really appreciate your time and energy in confirming the answer. So glad we haven't fallen out in the process. Why did we have to choose a quiz that I agree is rather ambiguous in places? I don't mind taking the time and supporting charity if I know I've got the correct answer for my trouble in the end.
I did smile to myself that having found it I then went back again to find it to give you proof.

I have gone with dog too I was just making a point
as for the condom - still thinking about it - lol
Can you share with us the condom and Eurovision questions?
Yes
what was the first condom made of

first country to receive nil points for their entry in eurovision

both questions have more than one answer - I didnt want answers I was just commenting that the answers arent cut and dried
Thank you smouse

We are also investigating the question What first happened on March 12th 1869? We have an answer about New Zealand, but due again to slightly obscure questions, we think there might be another more obvious answer.( unless the compiler happens to come from New Zealand) Perhaps you might like to investigate this one too Sir-prize, as you so kindly appear to be interested in solving the other two
Hi poodledoo . . .Yes, still searching and searching. But I've not had much luck with the 1869 question yet. But onwards and upwards

Thanks sir-prize. Good luck!
