In the following story the blanks rpresent the names of 40 birds most of which are native to Britain.Read the story and insert the name of a bird so that the story still makes sense.In each case, the dashes represent the number of letters in the birds name,which must be spelt correctly.In some cases the FULL NAME of the bird is used,in others just a generic or part name is used.For example 'Dove' rather than 'Turtle Dove' or vice versa.
You will score 1 point for each correct answer and the winner will receive 20% of all monies received.In the event of a tie an independent draw will take place to determine a winner.
(Be aware that there is a bit of poetic licence involved and there are a few groaners!)
