What have I done?

I have just seen a dig that boysinblue68 had at me in January. Why? I don't think that I have ever noticed a great many posts from him(?) or has he changed his name?

I must say that I have taken umbrage at his comments. I support virtually all the quizzes posted on the site, and try to abide by the unwritten rules. Yes I do ask for help - but only after I have researched all the internet sites and books that I have. I try not to ask questions too early or those that have already been answered. I Iwasn't even involved in the thread that he had a go at me on! I really must have upset him at some time.

I would love to be quick enough or bright enough to help others on this site but I think that I have only managed it once in the 18 months I have been a member but I keep hoping.

If I have got the ethos of the site wrong I would appreciate feed acak from someone with less of an axe to grind.

That all the feed back I needed thank you. Chloe is an absolute doll now. She has tripled her low birth weight and is 12bs now. Just getting ready for GGchild number 2. in April. Thank you again

I've seen the same thing from boysinblue68 - they even seem to have scared off one person, who was using the site for the first time.
Don't understand what the poblem was - I'm the same as you - I support quizzes when I can, only ask when I'm completely stumped - and I really enjoy being able to help others.

If we were all like boyinblue68, this site wouldn't exist!

I never understand people who complain when others ask for help. If they see the heading of a question relates to something they'd rather not know about, why do they look at the thread at all? It's not compulsory, so if you don't want to see the answers, then don't look. Don't worry about it Granny Grump. The arrogant bigheads who complain about others seeking help are far grumpier than you, and clearly don't have anything more important to moan about. Sad souls. Keep smiling. :o)

Hi granny grump. congratulations on your forthcoming 2nd great grandchild. I'm sorry you were upset. As far as I see it this board is a questions and answer board for quizzes and puzzles and that is what, in the main its used for. You just ask and answer away. I think folk sometimes forget that not everyone has had years of quizzing and crosswords and need a little more help. I for one cannot do cryptic crosswords for toffee and dont think I ever will be able to!

I had the same treatment from Doc Spock at Christmas.It was hard to get over it, and it did worry me in case they picked on an elderly person who was not strong enough to ignore it. I just had to accept that this is how some people get their kicks. Yes it was hurtful. The hardest thing was not to say how you really felt, and inflame the situation, because thats what they wanted you to do. It just made me very determined to carry on quizzing regardless, with the knowledge that I have very many friends on this site.

I'm sure a number of people feel the same....BUT, not everyone that comes on here is at the same level. Some people dont know how to use search engines, are new to computers and are a little scared, given all the publicity about viruses so are afraid to click on unfamiliar sites. Image how they must feel, they find what appear to be a safe friendly site, feel confident to ask a few questions and then they get jumped on. It's unnerving for them not to mention upsetting. Maybe a less abrupt stance would work and the offer of help with safe and useful links might me better

As for asking questions where quizzes are hot of the press sodemall10 I have never done this - You may not believe this but boysinblue68 is WRONG. I have even missed some of the closing dates because I haven't asked questions in good time. I wasn't even part of the thread that he had a go at me on - he is the one with the problem.

'Nough said - I will draw a line unde rit and not rise to the bait next time.

Granny grump - You haven't done anything. Just google his user name and you will see he has a go at lots of people. Perhaps, he should look for another site if he isn't happy rather than upsetting peole like you.

If people always google to always get the answers then there would be little point in having a section on quizzes! Afterall, this site is all about the interaction with other abers. Please ignore him x

This pair seem to have a mission in life to chase around websites having a go at people . Mazie has put it over much better than I could .As I have often said I sincerely hope they never have anything worse in life to worry over . All they seem to want to do is upset people,take the moral high ground and talk down to people whom they consider to be intellectually inferior to them . At the end of the day it's a just bit of fun ,helps a worthy cause and the camaraderie on this site is well worth it.
There are far worse things in life to worry over and a quiz or puzzle is a diversion from the realities which we all cope with on a day to day basis . ..
As I have also said before if they don't like it nobody forces them to look at it .
