sun, sand, sea holiday in March

I am looking for a 3 night weekend holiday somewhere sunny to go around 10th march with a buddy. Self catering apartment is fine, as we dont really want to spend more than around 200 pounds for flights and accomodation. Just want somewhere thats close to a beach to chill, preferably without too many screaming babies in the vicinity, but with some nightlife, not completely quiet!
Which are the sunniest destinations short-haul, with the exception of Tenerife, in March?
I am thinking of the Algarve, Lanzarote and Gran Canaria as the most suitable spots.
Any recommendations?

Let's start by checking the weather:

Lanzarote has typical March daytime temperatures peaking at around 22C (falling back to around 15C overnight). Rainfall, at just 13mm for the month, is negligible:

It's not much different in Gran Canaria:

The Algarve only has temperatures peaking around 18C and falling to about 9C overnight. (The rainfall is slightly higher than either Lanzarote and Gran Canaria but still quite low):

To get really warm (or hot) sunshine in June, you're going to have to go further south than any European destination. For cheap prices that really limits you to just the Canaries. (They might be 'European' politically and culturally, but geographically they're African).

The best I can see at the moment (avoiding Tenerife) is �177pp to Fuerteventura, �185pp to Lanzarote or �189 to Gran Canaria, all with Expedia (out 07/03, back 10/03).

Doubt if you'd get anything in Gran Canaria for �200 to include flights, during the summer. Thompsons've been doing some great deals though, so I hear. However - you might like to look at some of these, as holidays start really cheaply.....

i think youre a bit tight.self catering for 2 people you will incur a supplement .
ends up cheaper hb for 2 .

Lol - it can be done cheaper than that though Legend. A friend managed to get return flights to Tenerife for �77. Don't ask me where from, but they did. Once there, they found some really cheap places to stay at, on a daily basis. Apparently just very basic - but that's all he needed.

Thanks Buenchico for your commendation but I dont see why you should thank me when its me pestering you endlessly with questions. I do ask a lot of them but then Ive always been a curious fella. I like to ask a lot of questions. I was wondering Buenchico if you have ever had to ask a question yourself, seen as you always seem to have the right answers for everyone.
