A chronic inflammatory disease of the lower intestinal tract, which causes thickening and obstruction of the intestinal tract of the human body, is named after the 19th-20th century American pathologist who first identified it. What was his name
I'm pretty sure he was a pathologist but have come across a disease starting with W....Not being a physician I'm not sure. I think I need to put descriptions of both diseases on one page and look at them critically. W was earlier.
I'm inclining towards W, as he is recognised as a pathologist and in some of the articles (they all seem to give mostly the same facts) it mentions the thickening process which I didn't come across when reading about Burrill. ( This is turning into a "tank" question !!)
C has the right symptoms, W has the right qualifications. The problem with W's disease is that it doesn't tick enough of the right boxes and has lots of symptoms that aren't even gastrointestinal.
Just came across some info on the Crohn's Disease website. Unless they've seriously messed up, it can't be Crohn's. He was the fourth to identify the disease, not the first. The first person was a pathologist, but Italian and 17th-18th Century.
