i've been thinking about all the little sayings we have in this life, my own favourite being "what goes around comes around." I always like to think that this is true.
ive got this going through my head to at the moment, "its better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all", now if that is true, is the saying " what you dont have , you dont miss" true? confusing. So if you love and then lose it, it is very painful so is it best never to feel it cause then you wont experience that pain if you do lose it? :-/
I think there are some great sayings out there passed down from generations. Which do you believe in and which have fatal flaws in your opinion? is there one you always tend to quote? x
My fave, To find your rainbow you gotta put up with the rain. and I dont get 'Have you cake and eat it' I mean what else do you do with cake' Caaaaaaaaaaaaaake
Hi again jules honey , well I've read your thread several times , heavy for me I must admit . I have never been in love and I think it must be worse to lose the love of your life than never to have them at all. As I don't know the feeling of being in a loving relationship though , I can't know what it would be like to lose it .

I use "up and down like a fiddler's elbow " a lot. One of my favourites is "like a fart in a colander - doesn't know which hole to come out of". That's an expression which my family has used for years and I'm sure there are variations but it always makes my work colleagues laugh.
They are expressions rather than wise sayings like yours though.
sorry bigmamma i did think it was a little bit heavy for this time of the morning but yes, thats my opinion exactly! has to be more painful to lose than to never feel it whole heartedly!
