Posting this during the day as I dont want to stir anything up. I have recently been the victim of extremely cruel jibes towards me-I wont name names but they come out to play at night.(hey i can take and dish the usual nonsence but even I know there is a fine line -plus I always use the same name) Now what worries me is this-are those people the same people who I chat to during the day and evening?Do they then change their names later at night for the sole purpose of distressing people -is that how they get their kicks? I know I shouldnt let it bother me BUT they are NEVER on during the day/early evening which makes me think its regulars as they seem to know about me and others for that matter.. I feel cagey about people now -thats not fair to the decent people on here. I am posting this as I read one of the cr@p threads last night and saw for myself one person posting to 'itself' -I only know cos 'it' made an eff up last week and forgot to change back. Anyone else feel this way?

I know it is crap Dris, but all I can say is it ain't me giving you any grief, easy for me to say ignore the sad sods, but try to let it wash over you. it may well be people that are on during the day as well,

I did have loads of crap couple of years ago when I was Raysparks, and I kept arguing with them, they all gave up in the end, but I got banned as well.

The problem we have on here, me included, is that we give out too much information about ourselves. Which can, and has been used against us by folks who suddenly decide they don't like us.

I think the trick here Dris is to maybe hold back on some of the real life issues we have so that they can't be used as sticks to beat us with.

And yes- quite possibly some of the daytimers could very well be the night time nasties, but as they're never likely going to admit it, I don't see the point in trying to puzzle out who is really who. All that's going to do is spoil your own enjoyment of AB ,letting them win.

Thing is that its easy to say ignore it but when they say something like 'You should be with your childrens father' -then I feel I am being stalked and feel threatened as only a nutjob would post that.I dont know those people but then again do I?
Thats the problem.
Dont worry I only used that as an example -its not about THAT.
I try to ignore them on-line but it does hurt me deeply -I know it shouldnt but it does.

What you say B00 is very true, but when we think we know somebody a little we talk to them don't we, lot of people on here could say things about me and as you say you as well, hope they never do, but that is the risk we take. but you are right B00 we should hold some stuff back

Dris, that remark would hurt anyone. i think you have to have bloody thick skin for it not to. Im sorry you had to hear that. treat them with the contempt they deserve for a mindless comment like that hun.

To say things like that Dris is very nasty and very cheap, and it would upset anybody, just hope that whoever does it never feels that sort of pain some of us go through at times, altghough one day they will feel it cos we all fell pain sometime in our lives and normally when all seems to be going well.

I can truthfully say on my unborn childrens lives that I have never intigated any form of nastiness EVER in the 5 or so years I have been on AB.

I ignore the constant little digs but then one day I simply respond.

I further find it ironic that more often or not, the first people to respond to threads like yours are in fact the real nasty people you are describing. Some of the "more holier than thou" underclass, tubby scum on here are in AB terms, bullying, condescending and utterly ignorant pieces of filth.

But as said, the best thing to do is ignore them. Sadly, in my case compared to Uncle Raymondos above, people have held grudges against me for many years.

I am in total agreement with Boo. I made the mistake of saying too much in the beginning and the backlash nearly made me leave. To truly enjoy answerbank you have to learn to ignore the ignorant no marks. There are far more lovely people on here to chat to.

Yeah BOO -you are right I forget where I am sometimes and just prattle on cos I feel as though i'm with friends and end up spilling my guts out.
I have reigned myself in quite a lot apart from last Saturday -but we wont go into that (its just that sometimes I am on my own and the very peeps I usually talk to cant for the same reasons).

Alot of it does depend on who your friends are on here. You've chosen to become friendly with certain users who are very much disliked on this site by others. That's your prerogative of course, but...those very nasties who post filth aimed at them will also turn their venom on you. Is this right? Of course it's not, but sadly, its the way it seems to be on here.

I didn't say you can't give out personal info, but if this personal info is the particular stick folk use to get at you and it usets you, as it obviously does Dris, the solution is to stop giving them the said stick- no?
