Drinks tired me .......... Kidderminster (anag.)
last one - Staines
I heard "Bury St Edmunds" mentioned for inter a simnel.
Could 3 be Watford - cos some people refer to the North as being anywhere north of Watford ?
Altenatively it might be Berwick
Think 4 is Wolverhampton

Bury simnel cake is a variant of the cake originating in Bury.

So maybe the answer is just "Bury".

Thanks everyone for your help. As far as Inter a Simnel - I have thought abour Bury St Edmonds, but why St Edmunds. Also know there is a Shrewsbury Simnel cake as well as a Bury one. Confused.
The frontier town - I thought might be Scotch Corner but not sure.
I didn't see anything confusing about BURY as an answer.

To "inter" is to "bury", and "Bury" is "a simnel".
