Think it is that we sometimes forget to pass on the info.
We have different degrees of computer literacy.

Thank you FRYT. I'll try and remember that in future - there are so many crosswords around it is difficult sometimes to remember what is what.

In that case Wop/tpo would seem to be mistaken with his/her answer. He/she seems to think the crossword DOES give the number of letters - - - Strange!

I was confusing this crossword with the similar crossword in the Sunday Express called the 'Skeleton'. That one does (or at least did,) give the number of letters because when I was at school I used to use it as an exercise in logic and complete the grid without solving any clues.
