A comment really. Just two minor points. Plumage is not spelt plummage and the county is known as the Garden of England isn't it, not the Garden of Eden?

Yes, and in 16a, why is humour given the american spelling and in 31a we have authur instead of arthur. A really sloppy effort in fact.
I think the old fashion proof-reader who could spell is no longer used .... instead there is the dreaded spell-check and the demise of the three 'Rs' .....

it is not only the DT, but many other puzzles .... including the generalist with wrong dates (1835 instead of 1855) and wrong quotes from Keats (leaves instead of heaves).

what is acceptable today is 'less'
