Could be dishorse

Light can mean to dismount

Dish = meal

but I can't work out the " marches in style " equating to orse

I was thinking along similar lines as I now believe the word starts with D.

I'm hoping someone will put me out of my misery.
Ummm...........I'm not sure which crossword you are doing. This Sunday's Times was No. 4276 and didn't go upto 33ac, and its neither of the Weekend Jumbos.

If you can point me in the direction of the right crossword, I'll check it out.

The crossword is actually the Mephisto 2489 in the Sunday Times - sorry for the confusion.
