This third week in the reign of Lady Judy went perfectly once again, with the added bonus of latent poetic talent. Based on the theme Wizard of Oz , it was possible to recognise the acting ability of Judy Garland and the dedication of our very own seekeerz.
I can now reveal the chosen links were:

Scare MONGER(ING)
HOODED Crow
REBEL-Lion (Ouch!)
MESS Tin

Yet another mixed bag! The first two were spotted immediately and brought a rich harvest of bonus points to the "early birds". The other two were eventually spotted by our more deviant entrants! Once again, we had a strong theme with some quirky links.

To my surprise, ulysses100 struck quickly with a double whammy of SCAREMONGER and HOODED CROW at 09.01am. This opened a window in time until 09.03am for entrants to win bonus points. Two Points were duly gained by Alibobs, Dinkypuzzled, freebie 2, x-ray, Dustybun, miss meg & sarumite. In fact, a number of entrants made the deadline with repeated double whammies to gain FOUR POINTS including Strix, Christiana & jan1956. Rich pickings indeed!

Unfortunately, JIMjools & bridgenut had double hits, but were just out of time for bonus points. We had had 14 entrants by 09.03am ~ showing just how brisk trade is at the kick off! You really need to be champing at the bit to make an impact at the beginning!

The next killing came at 09.04am with Entrant #16 who goes by the name of beejay1124 to claim MESS TIN! No-one else saw the potential in this link! The final link to fall went to the mighty kettledrum who landed the devious REBELLION! What a rebel! This was also spotted by ex-champion gen2. Well done to you both!

In view of the early double success of ulysses100, I determine that they are more than qualified to be named as Hot Shot of the Week!

The League Table after this third week is:

SIX POINTS: Christiana, Dinkypuzzled, jan1956, miss meg & Strix
FIVE POINTS: Aquagility & kettledrum
FOUR POINTS: Alibobs, beejay1124, bridgenut, freebi 2, JIMjools & ulysses100

Its still an open field! Next week is the last one for May and there will be everything to play for ~ and anyone of the above could win the May Crown!

This is crofter signing off for another week.
See you next week: Same time Same place

Until then: HAPPY LINKING!

:o)
I was thinking it was time we had one of those crafty two into one words but tha's as far as I got!

Thank you JMR and Crofter and well done Ulysses.

I shall have to be content with my four points this month as will be away next weekend
gosh 4 points,
thanks Crofter and lady judy
look forward to next week
well done everybody
jan
Thank you Lady Judy & Crofter.
Congratulations to ulysses100 and the league table leaders

Annoyingly, all 4 matches were on my shortlist of possibles.

Fortunately, although I was debating whether to go with
. GANG lion
. MEDAL lion or
. REBEL lion
I picked the right one there.

BTW
I've had an email from seekeerz and she is fine - just her computer that has given up the ghost.
not being picky but isn't scare MONGERING a 9 letter word?
It's Scare - MONGER centrino
Ah! I see what you mean centrino. Yes it is.
apologies JIM JOOLS misread the answer post with the
ing in brackets
Been out in the cold so long I didn't really expect too much, so wrapping my four points around me like a comfort blanket.

Well done Ulysses - so quick off the mark - and thanks Lady Judy and Crofter.
with thanks to crofter and well done to all those who scored!
Yes, well done to all those who scored. I reverted to type (Nul Points) and shall not be bothering the leader board this month. Roll on June.
Well what a load of rubbish from me this month!!
Well done to everyone else!! :-((
Ah well, Pauline, I somehow managed to get some points but console yourself your lack of score was probably down to the combined shenanigans of the previous night in the Shrubbery!

What garden path will Lady Judy lead us down with her supposed hints for her links (or should I have spelled that Lynx?) next Saturday, I wonder?
As Manuel would say ... Qu? (S) :O)
Wow!! Points again! It's a completely new experience being in with a chance of winning. I'm not sure that I can change the habits of a life-time and go for the obvious next week, but I think I shall have to be more 'sensible'.

Congratulations to Ulysses and the leaders, and thanks to Lady Judy & Crofter.
Thanks once again Lady Judy and crofter.
Well done ulysses (never quite sure whether I've spelt that right).
Also congrats to the other winners, managed to get two points myself this week - not that I will be among the contenders for the crown next week.
Really enjoy our little game each weekend - my better half thinks I'm completely mad - she is probably right..
Soon be tomorrow now and the solutions to KM, not that I've any more chances with that either.
Have a good week everyone - see you all next Friday
hello crofter,

sorry to complain but scaremongering has nine letters - one more than the eight permitted in the rules.

hopefully this does not affect the results.

Hi centrino & Prescott, Sorry for mentioning (SCARE) MONGERING. You are quite right, of course. I was rushing to meet the deadline and trying to cover all the bases ~ even those which didn't need covering!

As it turned out, NO ONE actually predicted SCARE MONGERING!

So in fact, I was indulging in some scaremongering myself.
