Getting a deposit back
Booked a holiday for my honeymoon online(12th May) with direct holidays, paid a deposit (62) and received an email saying I would get another email with bookings and balance etc within 24 hours. Didnt receive any email of them and this is after a week so tried to phone them on numerous times but never got through so decided to re-book holiday by going into travel agents in person. Finally managed to get through to direct holidays today to cancel with them only to be told I have to pay 172 cancellation fee.Expained to them I booked another holiday because I didn`t receive conformation email from them, only to be told they couldn`t refund me. Any ideas where I stand on getting my deposit back off them

I had a similar problem, well the email bit. I booked a hotel over the internet and never got my confirmation email. I tried ringing them and did get through and they said they would resend the email. I never got an email and I was a little worried. Anyway I used another email address - sent myself an email and the email was returned unsent saying account too full. I would of not known if I hadn't sent myself an email.
