Apparently some money has gone amiss at my work,i have been off for a few days was told by a friend, so now we have to count each servicers users money with every shift handover! that means entering the service users room and counting the money in there room, we only have 15 minutes hand over period before the next shift handover, outwith all the other details we have to go thru, its obvious that its been a mistake somewhere along the line the guys that i work with have been there for a few years now and wouldnt put there job in jeopardy also we do the monies in twos,so we are being made to feel guilty in the meantime, i only get paid to a certain time and resent having to stay back to go over 4 service users monies! i hear the police is involved but wont find the details till i go in this aft what recourse to we have it was 200 by the way!

I know that spaced!, i remember the 2 hundred being in a service users tin a few weeks ago it was allocated to b uy a new telly, and they had planned to and buy one sometime last week, so thats the last time i saw it, in a plastic wallet, havent been out with that service user since!
Shouldnt an item such as a TV come from the houses budget which is paid for by head office and then deducted from the houses budget? Only petty cash should be keot in a care home.

Is it a registered hcare ome or Supported Living?

This money is for a new telly for all 4 service users and the monies are coming out of there personal purchase monies not household, this a reputable care in the community house
Not really sure what you are more pee'ved about - the money going missing or the extra time you will have to work without pay?!

What job are you in? Sounds like retail if you use tills? but unsure what a service user is so I am guessing it's not actually retail lol.

If 200 is missing someone is responsible for it, be it stolen or lost in the system - a bit of extra time unpaid to find it won't hurt will it?
Right, disregard the service user qu in my post lol
wouldnt it be weird if we both worked for the same company?

If this is leaked, it could damage the company's reputation and of course upset the parents.

Im not totally in the know with the running of homes, as im a fleet manager for one of the UK's biggest care companies, but I do know, having seen it before, that stolen money from a service user is serious

spaced you are automatically saying that staff have stolen it! we have so much paperwork to do when it comes to taking any monies out, and try as we might they is sometimes a wee ****** pennies i might say we are audited heavily and always come on on top to err is human and i trust my colleagues implictitly!!!
From what I gather puddi is more upset that the finger of suspicion would appear to be being pointed at everyone.I think the Police should have been involved a lot sooner TBH to avoid this type of scenario.

It makes everyone suspicious of each oher-not a healthy working environment.

I suspect each person will be interviewed by the Poilce puddi -along with the service users as they might have made a mistake.

Dont worry about it -it'll all come out in the wash -its a wee bit inconvenience but has to be done really to keep you all right until they find out whats happened.
im saying if it is stolen. You shouldnt trust anyone. One of our staff, been with the company 15 yrs, one of, if not the best home managers in the Company, who was constantly head hunted.

She was found to have stolen around 30k over the years.

Yes, trust your staff, but dont give them too much.

Morning Dris i do understand that, sadly our service users cannot understand, i did ask my mate who had authorised this as the service manager usually puts these things in comms books or one of higher hochos thats what is making me wondering if a support worker 4 has decided this, the ajdacent house has been told to do this also so that we dont feel victimised lol!
