Could only snatch a quick single, but I'm quite relieved to hear all your (virtual) voices.
There's nothing on my screen between 2.39 this morning and Steff's post at 7.28
Welcome to my world!

thanks all, yes, the site's been like constipated snail today but maybe back to normal now

when do you depart on your travels aq ??
Poor snail, Steff - I thought it had died!
I should be off on Friday or Saturday, weather permitting. Nothing very adventurous - cruising up and down between Great Yarmouth and Maldon. Hope it'll be better than last July!
Nix for Strix!

AQ, happy cruising, what size/type vessel? Sloop/ketch/smack?

Fair winds and good pubs.
Good morning, Strix.
Mistress is a 25ft aft cockpit sloop on a Fisher hull. Just right for the limited ambition of an ancient!

an tinnie with an outboard motor, more likely !!!

Thought there'd be more points scored than actually were - after the usual flutter of activity at the beginning when all 4 matches went quite quickly things became a bit ho hum, but never mind, we'll do better next week.

Aquagility was first out of the blocks with Thumb Index, then seekeerz picked up Treble Clef [amazing when you consider my music interests!!]
Then DizzyLizzie & centrino each scored a double with Mole Hill and Polo Shirt, while between them jan1956 also grabbed 2 bonus points plus 1.

In the 'good guess' department Elspeth & Mrs E both gathered in three points while sarumite, Grenmus, bridgenut, Poppy-red, Jools, cpfcrosiel, wickedtongue, keyboardix & Magyar all collected two points and another 14 added a point to their collection.

OK that was this weeks haul, I'll go away and do my adding up, but on another subject completely - am I the only one to have what looks like an inflated toy something [not game to guess what !!] but it's orange with a tail like a baseball bat and it's bobbing up and down like a balloon on the lower left hand side of my screen, with no further information - now if anyone should mention it's because I do not possess an Apple Mac,or that I am inebriated, that person will be severly dealt with, but any useful information would be most welcome - Mr seekeerz has just told me it's a cat, I'm not putting any money on that.....I shall return with the Leader Board in the fullness of time, till then I bid you all adieu, and if I sound a trifle tipsy, it's due to an over indulgence of sauv. blanc, of which I am extraordinarily fond and have been drinking all weekend... I think I'd better just leave, quietly......................................................... !!!!
It's a raccoon, Steff. We all got together to put it on your screen - we just thought you'd like it.
Lucky you, AQ.
A friend of mine (RCC,RYS) had a slightly bigger version which he sailed for many years, mainly in Scandiwegian waters.
I have an option of a cruise this summer on a friend's (RCC) 23 Robertson designed sloop (1934) off the west coast of Scotland (based Crinan). Trouble is I am 6ft and I can't stand up in it, and getting in and out of clothes is like some kind of escapology!
if you click on it..you get another site orange mobile...
Seekeerz, don't worry it is on an Apple Mac too, so it isn't the sauv blanc. Though you would have to drink a hogshead of vino to turn a real raccoon into that intrusion on our screens
I hadn't noticed the squirrel/raccoon/cat thingy until Pauline pointed it out as I always ignore advertisements - but has anyone noticed that you can't shake the wretched thing off? If you shoot quickly to the top of a page from the bottom the blasted thing comes with you!

Dusty completely fed up with no score in either links this week - but thank you everyone involved anyway.

Happy hols for those going cruising etc. Aqua - you are the only person I ever came across who actually declared he has a Mistress!!! And Strix - at 6ft this has to be for you!!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e3x10xxt6fk
Good one, Dustybun. There was a time in my youth when 6ft was thought of as tall! Now even my 18yr old daughter is taller than me! But it would seem that that in designing and builiding a 23 foot yacht in1934 the idea of someone 6 foot tall being on board didn't enter into the design parameters!
now there's a surprise - a big fat zero again!
I tried to copy a song from Youtube for Strix but when I went to highlight the address all that appeared was a black circle with a diagonal through it - it wouldn't highlight. Please can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong?
It certainly did not, Strix. You are talking of the 'bucket & chuck it' era, when if it looked right, it was right! And high freeboard was unacceptable.
Thanks seekers for the results. I got another zero.
You'll be pleased to know that racoon has now vanished - well it has on my screen anyway
woo-hoo it worked! a song for Strix (the dancing girls are for Aquagility!)
