COLLOP

helping (as in a helping of food) = collop, a slice of meat.

Carry Out = CO
survey = POLL turned <<< = LLOP
Question Author
ta gen 2 but am thinking DOllOP = DO == Carry out + POLL == DOLLOP = Helping
I agree - much more likely to be dollop.

I have just looked up Chambers and CO is not listed as an official abreviation of Carry Out, so yes, go with DOLLOP.
