Tks to Rapparee again for the link. I'm wondering if any former winners could advise if there was any delay in getting their prize. After seeing the number of this week's puzzle, I realise I've heard nothing from the Spectator since being named as the winner six weeks ago. (A marked contrast to The Week, where the radio arrived the day before the magazine with my name in it). A thanks to all on this site who alerted me to both these (generally) very enjoyable puzzles.
A couple of years ago it took about 6 or 7 weeks for the prize to appear, but more recently it has been much quicker. I e-mailed Doc at the time who commented that the compilers were also having delays in receiving their payments !
It's my impression that they send out all cheques once a month around the 10th of the month, so how long it takes rather depends on when you won. If you don't get your prize within the next few days, don't expect it until August. But they do always pay. If you asked for a dictionary you are then in the hands of the publishers, and maybe you should contact doc to chase it up!
