What would we talk about if we hadn't the weather to discuss, our summer here so far has been a washout and everyone you meet talks about weather, I felt like Michael Fish today when one lady carried on a full scale conversation about the weather. It can only get better! Avoid weather conversations it will only depress you!

the weather can be very interesting. I for one almost got struck by lightening at the weekend, and since have not been able to drink coffee (was a conesseur) and have developed a seventh sense that enables me to detect boring people from some distance, to which I then can avoid. So how boring is the weather!

i only went because it was raining.

Hi Mary T, you are absolutely right, it is a very British thing to do LOL!

However, we do get the worst weather up here in Scottland....all that rain that the rest of the country has been getting is the norm for us!

Its an icebreaker btw! I travel quite a lot and it is a good way of striking up conversation ;) so it is NOT boring !!
