I think this has been answered before as
the no.7 on a telephone keypad
I am the number 7 on a phone keypad!
Many of you have seen the question below posted on the site several times by a variety of users...

"I live above a star but never burn, I have 11 neighbours but they never turn.My initials are P,Q and R and sometimes S.What am I"

Please just simply ignore this/these individual/s and report the post, they clearly have to much time of their hands and find themselves entertaining for some reason!

We should all know the answer by now but if there is anyone still struggling to work it out - answer number 7 on a telephone keypad!

Do not reply in the thread if this question is posted again just report it.

Thanks
AB Ed

Sir Prize....I have just this morning registered onto the web site. I was puzzled and wanted someone to help me out. Therefore I did not look on the website to find an answer. So please keep you unwanted comments to yourself!!!
Sir.prizes's comments are not his own, Seano89 - they are the comments by the Answerbank Editor herself. I struggle to believe you have not heard the answer to the riddle before posting as it is has become ubiquitous - but believe me this riddle has become a blessed nuisance on this site recently and some of us don't want to see it ever again!
Seano89 You're being jolly rude for a NEW ABer. I suggest you are just hoping for a reply to get us going. I report all duplicated questions!
seano,

for future reference then, there is a search bar at the top of this page. Type in a few words and click "site" then search.

It rather clever and will bring up previously asked questions.

Always use it first, otherwise hundreds of the same question appear, pushing others further down the lists

heres the search results http://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/Search/default. asp?SearchText=live+above+a+star&searchType=si te&x=33&y=5
is that right, Tallulah? I always thought 'duplicate question' reporting was for when one person posted the same Q several times, not for when different people did. Anyway, I hadn't seen the Ed's post either, I'm surprised that she's grumbling about a single question (I'd have thought she had plenty of other work to keep her busy, like getting the user profiles functional) and I don't see why Seano should be expected to know everything about a website he's just joined.

Thank you redcrx and jno for your support on this matter and for basically not been arse holes about it.

i will try that next time redcrx.

cheers
jno - you can be as surprised as you like that AB Ed had to get invlolved but you clearly had not seen the ridiculous idiocy of one or more newcomers who were posting this riddle to the extent that it took up a number of consecutive posts and the idiots would not stop posting. Something had to be done, hence AB Ed's post. It is a pity she has not made it a sticky.

I too report duplicated questions - that is what the facility is there for.
jno,

ok new users may not know how to search etc.

But the ED posted that last week because green names were posting it almost every other question. Deliberately by the look of it too.

So, understandably, some feel that this is starting again.

seano, no problems, google is also pretty good.

i had tried google but couldnt see the answer i was looking for. cheers anyway.

And for the record i posted it because i wanted to know the answer not annoy you guys.
that sort of thing seems to happen a lot in Q&P though, that's why I was surprised the Ed bothered to intervene. And actually I was surprised to hear the search function was functioning, since it hasn't for ages. Does it now work when you first post your question, the way it used to? (I'm not going to post a test question to see, just wondered if anyone else had.)
If anyones looking out for repeat questions then I suggest they go on the music and/or adverts section. the same requests for Whats the music from the mcdonalds/special k/lloyds tsb/morrisons etc etc come up time and time and time again and nobody seems to worry about it. Give new members some leeway!
I would say that these 'new' AB posters are NOT new, just using different addresses and screen names. Some accounts allow you to have at least 20 different.
This riddle was posted in the wrong section! It should have been in RIDDLES.
No is the answer to whoever asked. The option to report says duplicated QUESTION like all the Sunday Paper ones.
Seano89. Thank you for your responses. 1) You say you have Googled tofind the answer . . .well if you type into Google the phrase I live above a star - the first thing you will see is the answer. 2) The 'unwanted' comments you refer to obviously were necessary. 3) If you. are indeed a newcomer, perhaps studying the facilities within the website would be a good idea. 4) To refer to people as ar$eholes is also emphatically against Site Rules. 5) If you need to learn the ettiquette (hic) of AnswerBank perhaps a look at the Terms of Use and Site Rules at the foot of this page may be enlightening. 6) Welcome to AnswerBank and treat is with respect - otherwise I have no doubt you will receive many more 'unwanted' comments in abudance.
