Hi! Everyone - never asked for a crossword answer as someone has always asked it first. Just want to know about making mistakes in Prize Crosswords. Is it all right to send an entry off with a correction in it? I use a Tippex tape pen to obliterate the wrong letter and write in the right one. I would be interested to hear what others think or do.
i use a Pilot FRIXIONball pen for xwords you can rub it out with the end of the pen just do not use it for cheques etc. they are available form stationers etc in lots of colours and my local shop is doing an offer buya pen and get a refil free
Yes, that is perfectly ok - its legibility that counts. I have won with a 'tippexed' entry to the Telegraph crosswords. Personally I write in pencil first and then copy over in pen when I am happy that I have the right answers - but there are many other ways and I am sure others will tell you what they do.
I use an eraser.max for everything. Then I can rub out any mistakes. Whiteout's very obvious! Just to be pessimistic, the chances of winning is 1 out of however many thousands of entries received. I only enter Colossus as every entry is checked and only correct ones go into the draw.
Squarebear's right! They pull one out of the sack, if it's wrong, goes in the bin, if it's right, it's won, simple as that - you can tell this especially with some publications like the Spectator - the three winners are usually from London/Home counties. I say to my partner - only opened one sack i see!
