2. Wind Break
Question Author
Thanks, pbeach. I get the wind bit but break? Also, windbreak is one word rather than split.
pbeach is right - it's an anagram of we drink a and b (first of bottle)
Hope this helps
Look closely at the clue - Confused = anagram
(we drink a (b))ottle first = wind break
A trouser for Paris = pantalon?
Question Author
Thanks for that. One down, one to go!
Question Author
Hi Kim. Did think of that but could not see a real link to a summer holiday. There is a 3 star hotel in Venice called that but that seems too tenuous.
Got any letters for that first one, Ozzy?
Question Author
Sorry, no - it is a standalone question rather than a crossword. I can't get any one word 8 lettered anagrams out of "A trouser" or "for Paris" so I am guessing it is a place name.
OK. How about going down the Paris as in 'Helen of Troy/Greek legend' Paris route and seeing if you can make a connection that way?
Question Author
I have been thinking of that all morning! Also for a Paris Hilton connection but as with the girl, there doesn't seem to be a lot there!
Bu++er!
I am going to stick my neck out on this one:
Pantheon....
have in mind something like palazzo pants but not letters!!
Anybody else think that Pant (a trouser) he on and the fact that the Pantheon is in Paris could be correct?
Question Author
The pantheon is in Rome!
There is a Pantheon in Paris too... google it - I have been there.
Question Author
So there is. Looks impressive too but not as impressive as the original one in Rome. Thanks again pbeach, I think this is the best one to run with to date.
