MM Links Solutions July 2008 [Week 4]
16 Answers
This fourth and final week in the reign life of Princess Pauline was inspired by Edward Lear [thinly disguised as an anagram of Leader Draw] with links based on the theme of The Owl and the Pussy Cat. I can now reveal Pauline's chosen links were:
Money TREE
Pound COIN
Boat RACE
HONEY Moon
All links were quickly spotted, however points were thin on the ground!

He was followed two minutes (and ten entrants) later by beejay1124 who lodged the same prediction to also qualify for their TWO POINTS. Surprisingly, these were the only bonus points awarded under the 2-minute rule.
However, in between time [at 09.02] cliffyg, hit a double jackpot with MONEY TREE and POUND COIN to score FOUR POINTS and qualify as HOT SHOT OF THE WEEK!
*** Cheers all round ***
The last link word to fall was HONEY MOON and was claimed by the romantic BigMac at 09.03 to claim the last TWO POINT bonus! The game continued at a quiet pace with the occasional single point being picked up here and there.
The League Table after this final week is as follows:
TEN POINTS: cliffyg
EIGHT POINTS: forward
SEVEN POINTS: wickedtongue
SIX POINTS: sarumite
FOUR POINTS: patchett
Clearly cliffyg is the July MM Links Champion (for a second time) but who will be next months setter?

Having run this competition for almost two years, it should come as no surprise that former champions are appearing regularly in high positions in each league table. This month, cliffyg, forward & wickedtongue are all ex-champions. In order to introduce fresh blood into the competition, I would like to nominate sarumite as the MM Links Setter for the month of August!
Long live Sir Sarumite!
Next week, there will be a new brain to probe!
Until then, this is crofter signing off for another week.
See you next week: Same time Same place
Until then: HAPPY LINKING!

Congratulations cliffyg on being this month's champion - not forgetting the runner-ups fordward & wickedtongue. I never seemed to be on the same wavelength as our Pauline with only a point here and a couple there.
I think Sar Sirumite will be more in tune with us male competitors so roll on August. Congratulations S.
Thank you crofter for the scoring and Pauline for the fiendish setting.

Congratulations cliffyg on winning the July competition, and also for qualifying as "Hot Shot of the Week".
My contribution this week was a big fat zero, having failed for once to get onto the same wavelength as Princess Pauline. It was an interesting month Pauline, and I really will miss your limericks!!
Thanks for doing the honours once again crofter and I have noted your suggestion that I preside over the August links. Whilst I would be quite happy to do this, it would have to be on the understanding that those finishing above me on the leader board are amenable to the proposal ! (S)

Oh, crofter, how could you?
You know only to well that sarumite is Lady P of the Dragon Lily's skivvy?
He's gone native, he is now a tweeny
He commutes twixt New Sarum and Stock Pot so as to vacuum her Ladyship's Chateau.
Think of the accusations of collusion, think of the court case when the News of the World gets on his case la Max Mosley......not to mention, crofter, the names of those who were also there being mentioned in a NotW article next Sunday about that recent gathering.......

Thanks once again Pauline and Crofter, another month gone, oh dear.
Well done cliffyg, fordward and wickedtongue - how do you do it.
Look forward to your selections next month sarumite - I must fare better than I did with Pauline (another zero this week)
Have a good week everybody, see you all next weekend.
Note for Kay - hope your cat-sitting duties worked out alright.
