Poortony - that, I am afraid is baloney! Anybody who answers the four questions in crosswords that have been answered here ARE wasting their time, which is why questions should not be asked twice. It is common sense.

The Site Rules make it quite clear that the same question should not be asked more than once - it is only polite not to do so in any case. No, I am not a moderator but duplicate questions DO waste others time - there is just no getting round that.

Poortony - they have not been answered YET! Why do you think the rules are as they are? Do you really want to answer questions that others may have already answered? You may have plenty of time on your hands but I would be very suprised if you have so much time that you are prepared to use it to answer questions that may have already been answered. This site is to help people, of course, but if I asked a question, I would not dream of asking it again until I was sure that it would not be answered the first time around.

Whilst I don't normally get too involved in controversy on this site, I can't help but notice that Catron appears to be on a mission to criticise anybody that doesn't conform strictly to his perceived methods of protocol.

Whilst he does provide a fair number of answers himself, he seems hell bent on nit-picking! Does it really matter that this question was previously posted in the crosswords section? Is it really worth taking issue on the subject?

Surely this site is for everyones benefit and/or enjoyment, let's not be critical of such a minor point of order.

Right - so there should NOT be Site Rules then? Anything goes? It is the flaunting of Site Rules on other parts of this site that is bringing the whole site into disrepute and some users are no longer recommending this site to others because of it. You may call it pedantic but rules are there for good reasons and it would be a better site if people did not ride roughshod over them.

Well I was just looking for an answer to the Daily Record and came across this .
To be frank Catron it's because of people like you that I no longer contribute to this section very much .When you get berated and spoken to in a condescending manner such as you employ it puts you off .
.I daresay if you tried to impose your views in another certain section you would get more than you bargained for .
Perhaps you should put your money where your mouth is and try and impose some order in other sections then ?
In the meantime the fact that someone slips up and posts twice is neither here nor there ..It's not a hanging offence .
