The Olympic games are wonderful, just watch all those athletes who've trained hard for 4 years, only to lose out in the heats or come 4th in the finals and 'just' miss out on a medal.

With any luck there will be even more fun this year. Did you see on the tele the smog over Peking? I would love to see loads of events cancelled or otherwise ruined by air pollution. I would like to see as a result the Olympic Games declared void and China politically and economically ostracised. I would like to see George Bush sort them out well and proper, even if only because they are so extraordinarily ugly.

Here is a little challenge though. Next time you go shopping (not food), have a look at what you are buying and see where it was made. It is ABSOLUTELY STAGGERING how much is now Made in China.

So, the smog over Peking is down to all of us, who would rather spend �5.99 on something Made in China than �14.99 on something Made in England. I don't. I buy British.

Greed will destroy this planet, but remember you saved �5 in the process.
