Advice on unwanted weeds

Hi,

3 weeks ago we laid grass seed down on our front garden. We had a large bush on part of it which we have removed as it was overgrowing (plus it was horrible and spiky). Anyway, the grass has grown nicely, however on the patch where the bush was there are loads of weeds mixed in with some of the growing grass. It's just a large circle of weeds, with the rains this summer they have just emerged. My question is that now the grass is ready to be mowed, should I mow over the weeds and try to strengthen the that is grass growing, or should I remove the weeds by hand then lay down more grass seed in its place and start again. I'm not really a gardener and was hoping someone who was, would give some advice.

Thanks in advance,
R

I would say your best bet is to remove the weeds and their root as much as possible... its the only way to be sure!
Why not try some lawn weedkiller? At first you will get some small brown patches but eventually with some help the grass will reappear.
I would just mow the whole area this will weaken the weeds and after a few months the grass will cover the ground, next year you can fill in any bare patches with seed .
