That is absolute nonsense (not the post puddicat, the decision). Yes, I take 4GS's point about some of the pilots potentially having been involved in missions against the Taliban, but isn't that being a tad oversensitive. Aren't the Olympics about human achievement? And isn't the way the Reds fly just another form of human achievement? The skill with which they handle those planes and the manoevres they carry out is absolutely breathtaking. I see this as the slippery slope to banning something that brings joy to thousands because it may offend someone.
Mind you, I am biased cos they very kindly did a full on display at my wedding 11 years ago (not organised I hasten to add, just damn lucky) - it made my day. I wrote to their Commanding Officer afterwards to thank them and had a charming reply in response.
