Oh! dear, Oh! dear here we go again we are offending someone else once again. Where will it all end? No more cracks about Liverpool people and one's car wheels, no more jokes about ginger haired people, fat people, dumb blondes, old people, mother in laws etc etc.
Not just "Is Britain losing it's sense of humour"?
More like "will Britain be FORCED into losing it's sense of humour"?
There was this, Muslim English man, Roman Catholic Irish man and Black Scotsman -----------------------------
Not got the same ring to it somehow, ah well !!

That series of sketches was dead funny, and hugely un-PC.
I remember when Harry Enfield used to be cutting edge and funny. Now his shows are sent to the graveyard shift on telly.
However, we'll never know whether the Harry Enfield sketch was actually any good.

maybe the British themselves are throwing it away without being forced to?

The British Sense of Humour is in fine health and its appeal has never been as broad. Just look in the Jokes section and you will find very many un-PC jokes. These are in wide circulation and are largely uncensored.
During development of any comedy programme you will get ideas that are thrown out. It was probably a close call, but a paedophile muslim cleric was judged an extremely thin seam of humour.

The great thing about being at home in the evening is that you can shout at the tv/newspapers as much as you like whenever any minority is seen/reported about. No-one can do diddly about that and I make full use of that freedom.
The problem with this country is that there are too many minority groups that make up the majority.
