I'd be grateful if you could explain your answer of Uranium to a recent question. I always like to understand how a clue works!

Thanks K

Lie in King posted the explanation on Sat/Sun but have been unable to find his post. The site seems to crash when you start going back through the pages!

I don't understand the clue either but uranium is the answer
hi K...if this is from the Jumbo, Lie-in King very cleverly came up with...the Americans' version of favour is favor and U (uranium) is not in it (if that makes sense!) regards, judy

Thanks modeste.

Uranium is clearly the answer (element), it was the word play I couldn't follow and doesn't seem to be of the standard of a Times crossword.

Maybe Shawnee who has shown a keen interest in the clue can provide an answer?

Hi Judy and thanks for the explanation. You know how I hate to just accept a solution without fully understanding the clue.
I see you were involved in an exchange over this very clue!

Hope you are keeping well

Regards K

Good morning shawnee.

I thought your posting of 'That's better' was a bit rude, but that was no excuse for omitting to thank you individually for providing the link to the answer I was seeking.

I apologise and have awarded three stars for your help.
