Removal of antivirus 2009

i have antivirus 2009 pop ups accidentally installed on my computer, is there any way i can remove it for free ? I have googled it for answers, but at the end they always want a fee for the download. i know it isn`t dangerous for the computer but its a damn nuisance. Help please !

Go to Start -> Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs.

Thanks Koster ! Iv`e tried that , but it doesn`t come under any programmes, iv`e blocked all the pop-ups but its still appearing as a pop-up when you least expect it. Its an icon in the bottom right hand corner, ( a small red shield with a white cross). Have run a good spyware programme to clean everything but to no avail.
