Shurely shomething wrong here. The clue is: "Better than standard on a golf course." The answer seems to be "Above par." It should, of course, be "below par". Par is standard and, if you shoot better than that, it's below par, not above. Any others find this odd?

They have obviously broken it down thus;

Better than = above

Standard on golf course +par

but the whole is incorrect in gofing terms I agree
Yes, an extremely naff clue...
You are absolutely correct , clearly the compiler does not understand golf terminology. under par , sub par or below par is correct. however , only above par fits in with other surrounding answers to clues !!!!!
You are all right of course. They have obviously not read or referred to the Royal and Ancient rules of golf.
