Odd one out and why please

which is the odd one out in these 56novels and why please I am completely stuck, can't see anything in common. Thanks in advance

Dorothy L. Sayers: Gaudy night
William Faulkner: The sound and the fury
John Wyndham: The seeds of time
Aldous Huxley: Brave new world
Nicholas Monsarrat: Richer than all his tribe
Thomas Hardy: Under the greenwood tree

Complete stab in the dark, but could it be adjectives in the title? Making The seeds of time the odd one out? x

Well, one (the Dorothy L Sayers one) was written by a woman...the rest by men ???

I dont know if it is the right answer But John Wyndham's The Seeds of Time is a collection of short stories rather than a full novel.

What they all have in common is that they are quotations from Shakespeare. But i'm not sure which is the odd one out ... perhaps Under the Greenwood Tree, which is a song sung by several members of the cast in As you Like it. The others are all spoken by one character.

Wow, thank you so much i wasn't expecting so many great and different answers, was going with Rosetta's answer until I saw kettledrums. It's a quiz in our local bookstore so the Shakespeare angle looks good. Will let you know!
