Hi, which is the odd one out in these 56novels and why please I am completely stuck, can't see anything in common. Thanks in advance
Dorothy L. Sayers: Gaudy night William Faulkner: The sound and the fury John Wyndham: The seeds of time Aldous Huxley: Brave new world Nicholas Monsarrat: Richer than all his tribe Thomas Hardy: Under the greenwood tree
What they all have in common is that they are quotations from Shakespeare. But i'm not sure which is the odd one out ... perhaps Under the Greenwood Tree, which is a song sung by several members of the cast in As you Like it. The others are all spoken by one character.
For info: Gaudy Night - Ant & Cleo III ii
Sound & Fury - Macbeth V v
Brave New World - Tempest V i
Seeds of Time - Macbeth I iii
Richer than ... Othello V ii
Under the Greenwood Tree - As you Like it II v
Wow, thank you so much i wasn't expecting so many great and different answers, was going with Rosetta's answer until I saw kettledrums. It's a quiz in our local bookstore so the Shakespeare angle looks good. Will let you know!
