MM & KM Links Nov 2008 [Week 4]

What a week it has been for competitions. AB-Linkers have at last found the measure of the man called Sir Strix ~ and John Sergeant looks as if he has opted out of Strixly Come Dancing. Has sanity returned to an insane world? As a result, the scoreboard is looking decidedly healthier and I predict another week of goodies for the early punters. What will happen to the "Dance Off" tomorrow evening is more difficult to predict.

Rumour has it that Sir Strix is absolutely delighted to have reversed the trend of low scoring, but will attempt to introduce some degree of control back into hisgame. I think he has "no chance"! Once the members of the Shrubbery Squad smell blood, they do not let go of the quarry. As usual, the launch should open at 08.45 tomorrow, with a lengthy preamble to read before the MM link words are disclosed at 09.00 (sharp) and Sir Strix sets his penultimate set of four words to be linked!

I hit my peak in September when I came equal top with ulysses in MM Links, but it's been downhill ever since.
I seem to be having more luck on KM.
Talking of KM is anybody a member of the Telegraph Crossword Society and get tomorrows crossword at midnight tonight ?

I think Christiana might...she is in Potugal. She isn't always on here on a Friday night though.

I'm not a member either, but it will be interesting to see if anyone starts asking for answers from ABers just after midnight!

x-ray, ever since I read that the GK & Herculis Crosswords would be on the internet at midnight at the start of their respective days I have worried that some obsessive would stay up long enough to get in first with the answers!
Might work with KM - but won't work with me whilst I'm on the MM Links, I like my pit too much to stay up that long to give the clues that early!!
Aah, the answers - I had a problem even setting them.....

I don't think it will make any difference to our link games anyway and I think gen2 has got it right.
Agree with you strix, it wont interfere with my sleeping habits

Kay, I don't sleep very well, get up just after 7 Monday to Friday but have a lie-in to 9 or 10 at the week-ends!

I stay up late too, but it's usually because I am playing Scrabble on Facebook Scrabulous. It's very addictive!!!!
Just thought I'd put this on as I went to see him last Sunday. Also one of the Merseybeats, one of the Searchers and the Dakotas. It awas a 60's show and it was really good, much better than I expected and Dave Berry was brilliant, especially singing Rock and Roll classics.
