Definately Elton John
ooh, good one. In my humble opinion, for sheer talent: Jeff Buckley, Bono, Thom Yorke, Guy Garvey, Adam Duritz. For sheer uniqueness and loveliness: Michael Stipe, Roddy Womble, Robert Smith, Ben Ottewell, Tom Mcrae and me.
def. agree with scarlet on a few: Bono, Thom Yorke, Michael Stipe also frank sinatra, kurt cobain, axl rose
Ooh what a toughie! Amongst my faves: Mick Jones (Clash not Foreigner!) Stevie Marriott General Johnson (Chairmen of the Board) Engelbert Humperdink Roger Whittaker Dean Martin
Thom Yorke, Michael Stipe, Tom Chaplin, Guy Garvey, Chris Martin, Andrew Montgomery from Geneva (now probably defunct), Jeff Buckley
aso like Lee Mavers, Martin Grech, Roland Orzabal, Jonathan Donahue. Paul Mcartney has a nice voice but it is a bit worn now i think. The thing i dont get about dean martin and Frank Sinatra is that i can go to any local workingmen's place and see half the oap's sing just as well as themon the weekly karaoke night. there's no gusto / ba||s there, just croonage.
Joe Strummer, Iggy Pop, Joey Ramone, Johnny Cash, Glen Tilbrook, Louis Prima, Peter Skellern, Guy Mitchell
Elton John, Kurt Cobain, Stevie Wonder, Will Young (sorry I'll get lynched, but he has got a lovely voice), Chris Cornell (Soundgarden, Audioslave), Otis Reading, Barry White (What?! Nobody else sounds like him!), Ray Charles, Freddie Mercury, Louis Armstrong, Bob Dylan, I could go on but won't because I'm getting bored...
Oh, and Hank Williams, Kinky Friedman and Terry Allen.
Ozzie Ozbourne, MeatLoaf, Guy from DefLepard, Frank Sinatra, Elvis Costello, James Taylor, Ian Gillan, Robert Plant, Shaggy, John Denver, Rod Stewart....given the right piece on a good day ....they're all great.
george michael
Roddy Frame, Issac Guillory, Tom Waits, Midge Ure, Paul Brady and Labi Siffre...sure I have missed loads but try those for starters.
Rod Stewart Roger Daltrey Tom Jones
haaaa. guy from def leppard and shaggy in the same post. thats made my day. each to their own.
David Coverdale Phil Lynott Jimi Hendrix
Roy Orbison
