MM and KM Links December 2008 [Week 4]

"A Very Merry Christmas" from Lady Slaney all the way from the South Pole!
May I second that sentiment as I, crofter, act as royal scribe in her absence. By now your goose will have been cooked, your turkey gobbled or your chicken well and truly stuffed! Welcome to the beginning of the fourth and final week in the reign of Lady Slaney, after which the brand new 2009 MM Champion will be decided by demonstrating success in the field of combat. There are quite a few contestants well placed in the Points Table ~ poised for victory!

Each one with a story to tell ~ some of which is disclosed in our preamble, but not always. No one more so than slaney who decided that to spend Christmas in Antarctica would be a good idea. I know of no one on AB who is as modest as she. I shall probably get into trouble by disclosing that she is highly qualified, spent all of her working life in the NHS caring for others ~ and eventually retired from a senior position. To us, she is simply our slaney ~ a role that she feels very comfortable with.
I did say last week, that it was very unwise to leave me with carte blanche to make whatever adjustments that I felt were necessary! However, I shall do my duty and launch the MM Links posting on her behalf tomorrow morning at 8.45am and declare her words for linking at the usual time of 9.00am. The rest is over to you. Let us see Ye Olde Year out with a flourish.

Dont forget the international version of this same game which is called KM Links which should begin at an earlier time. Keep an eye open for our very own Wizard(ess) from Oz, seekeerz who processes and scores predictions based on the words to be linked coming from the Herculis crossword in the Daily Telegraph.
The MM Links Game is open for most of the weekend, closing at 7.00pm on Sunday, when I shall assign points for correct predictions. Why not chance your arm at both Link Games? There are over 40 regular entries every week and newcomers are always welcome.
Until we meet again, may I wish you all A Peaceful, Prosperous & Healthy New Year.
