Colours Quz in aid of East Anglian Air Ambulance

The asterisk denotes a colour....eg *polka dot bikini...answer is yellow.

Just a guess. Could it be Red letter day.

It's a very poor clue, with not giving any letters, as there are so many variations any of which could be correct.
Hope you find out which one it is. Please let us know.

I think I would be tempted to fill in " See attached sheet".
Then write all the variations. with the meanings on the separate sheet, and let the compilers take their pick. One of them is surely correct. It might be amusing. :-)

Thank you everyone for your help but I still don't know which one . Orange was my first thought so think I will go with my first instinct! Schutzengel, I think you had the right idea to attach a sheet with all the possible answers!
On a completely different subject, is anyone doing the Terrible Twos quiz as I seem to have come to a full stop with about 20 left to complete!
