Was stupidly talked into booking a holiday on the spot when I was just browsing at the travel agents, got home and looked up reviews only to find that the hotel is meant to be awful. I'm travelling with kids and am so upset and don't want to go anymore. The holiday is not for another 7 months so the brochure seems to indicate that I can cancel with only deposit loss, but is there any circumstances that I might not have to lose the deposit, maybe if we find a substitute with the same company or because it's only been 2 days since booking? Any advice welcomed. Thanks.
My friend & I booked a holiday last year, and when we go home and looked on the net the destination and hotel were not rated very good.
We went back to the travel agents and complained saying that when they sold the holiday to us they described it as being really nice and local to all the amenities, when in fact it looked horrible and was in the middle of no where.
They tols us that there was a buffett service when in face there wasn't. We still wanted to go on holiday so we changed the destination and just paid a bit more for a different hotel.
The travel agents agreed to pay the handling fees that we needed to change over a holiday. Which was only like 20. So they made it seem as though they were doing us a favour when really they wern't as they got even more money out of us because we wanted to change the hotel.
