Gen2 - the answer cannot be 42.
The number has to be 2 MORE than a multiple of 7 which 40 is not.

The answer IS 37.

7 x 5 = 35, and 35 + 2 = 37
5 x 8 = 40, and 40 - 3 = 37

To be honest, we are really just guessing the answer - as sarumite says, if the 'blurb' should read '3 less than' , rather than 'lees 3 than', then one answer is 37 - but there is not just one correct answer - which makes me, and others, wonder if the question is indeed written correctly.

We need osman123 to come back and give the question again, I think.
