A win at last!

After only three months' submitting the Spectator Crossword, I managed to win one of the "additional" Christmas prizes of a Book of Quotations.

Many thanks to the eagle-eyed fellow solvers on AnswerBank, who sent their "Congratulations".

I still see winning EV as my primary goal, but with well over 100 entries to date and no success, I begin to despair!

Always nice to win something. I'm always hopeful for a big prize like a car or holiday or �5,000 (some hope) but a few times I've won a dictionary, bottle of wine or the odd �10 and it's always self satisfaction really to know you can do it and you are one of the few that has been drawn as a winner.

Congratulations Crofter! I noticed you'd won one of the prizes, as did BlueIce. But EV is a different story altogether ... not only is it harder, but there's only one prize and probably more entries. Anyway I wish you luck in your endeavours.
