I've just received a copy of the answers to this quiz which closed earlier this month. I thought people might be interested to know that the answers to the three ditloids which seemed to be causing the most trouble were:

37 FSitDoEY � February Six is this Day of Each Year
48 SoaEP � Seats on an Eos Plane
59 P:DWB � Parallel: Doctor Who Book

However, I'm rather annoyed that their answer to another question (60 MiaNM) is incorrect. Their answer is 60 Minutes in a Nautical Mile. I know that is given as the answer on some ditloid sites but it is simply WRONG. There is One Minute in a Nautical Mile. There are, however, 60 Minutes in a Netball Match but they deemed that answer to be wrong (even though it is factually correct) and stuck with their incorrect answer even after I pointed out their error.

I don't know who won the quiz or what the winning score was but I think they might not have won had the quiz been marked correctly. That is because I'm guessing they would have had at least one incorrect answer (ie 60 MiaNM) if the quiz had been marked correctly.

I didn't do this one but I agree that to point out a mistake and then have the correct one ignored is annoying.
It happened to me recently.
You have to realise that the Quiz Setters are not 'professionals' like Quizmail and Great Brain Quiz and they only want to raise a bit of cash for the charity.
Somewhere it probably says the judge's decision is final and that's that.
You've at least had the fun of doing it.

I think any quiz should have the winning score and who won sent along with the answers.

I also think that the netball match answer should have been accepted and the nautical mile one disallowed as it is incorrect.

i recently had one marked wrong in a quiz that i knew was right , the question was how many candles in an advent wreath, i answered four but had it marked wrong as they gave the answer as five. it really is most annoying and i think you gave a valid answer.

chorley I had 5 but Christmas mentioned 4 times in Gone with the Wind. I read the whole bally book and wrote down the years. But I got others really wrong.

i suppose we shouldn't complain, as you say we all get pleasure from doing the quizzes and nobody is infallible.the book must have taken some reading , the film took a while to see.
