Steady on handlebar. I don't know EVERYTHING. Just enough to know that you can work out a simple anagram in FIVE WEEKS. Don't be so lazy. Have a go. you will feel much better when you get the answer by yourself.

There are a few folk on here who object to others asking for help when they ask either for several answers or when the closing date is some weeks away. My advice is ignore them and ask away.

The point is that this quiz closes on 1 March - so there is plenty of time for people to do the hard work themselves. I'm a very long way from clever, but I managed to work this particular anagram out in about an hour.

DaiFawkes is correct - these people are just plain lazy. What possible satisfaction can they get from using someone else's answer? Oh, and the other problem people in these scenarios are the ones who provide the answers - do they not have any idea of the number of charity quizzes they are ruining? Just look at other recent threads on this subject.

If people can't answer questions themselves, what's wrong with leaving a blank space or having a guess - shock horror, what a thought! The charity still get the money, so no harm done. Why do poeple need to cheat when the prize money is not life-changing?

It's odd that I've seen no-one mumping when it comes to answering prize-winning crossword clues, what is the difference?

TCL-MUMPING - I know I'm stating the obvious, but since you asked..............the idea of charity quizzes is to help the charity (and have some fun and enjoyment along the way). So, the more people that buy the quizzes the better (for the charity). Unfortunately, many people are now not buying charity quizzes because they are being ruined by sites such as this. The enjoyment is being spoilt by most of the answers being given away on here. This just turns the quiz into a lottery, and for very small sums of prize money (hardly life changing are they?). I for one, and, from recent posts, it seems many others just want to pit our wits against the quiz setter. Why should the lazy people who can't be bothered to do the hard work be given the answers? Because many answers are given away, people then do not enter (and those quizzes that want the money with the entry) never see the cash. Prize winning crosswords from the papers are not charity quizzes are they-but I am still amazed that people are so desperate to complete them, some can ask almost every clue on here.

Other quizzes such as GBQ and GFQ are also being ruined, despite the pleas of the quizsetter that his contestants do not ask for answers on here.

I sometimes wonder which are worse, the lazy ones who ask or the people who answer!

Without the aid of a crystal ball, or input from all the charities, I have no way of telling you that.............but then you knew that already didn't you?

As I said before, try reading some other posts and you'll see visible evidence that charities (and other quizzes) have been adversely affected because answers are freely given away on here and other sites.

boysinblue68. the internet has killed most quizzes, not the answerbank.as for charity quizzes, some are so easy, that they are not worth doing.some quizzes have found a way around the internet,such as the one i'm doing now.i'll never finish it but i'll still support it , as i have done previously, because its a good quiz.. i dont have a lot of time to spend on them. occasionally people get stuck on the simplest of things, as i have and will do again. happy quizzing

handlebar - I agree that the internet has, in the main, made quizzes considerably easier. However, you miss the point when you say it is not the Answerbank that is ruining quizzes. When someone looks on the internet and does the research themselves, their work/efforts are not displayed on any website. However, when someone asks a question and posts it on here or other similar sites, the answer is in the "public domain" and freely open to everyone. This is precisely what the lazy people want-answers given to them on a plate. I think even you must agree there is quite a difference?

I agree with you, I don't like doing really easy quizzes, I like to be challenged and I also submit quizzes where I have not answered all of the questions, but I would not dream of taking someone else's answer - where's the enjoyment/satisfaction in that?

TCL-MUMPING - can I then suggest you read other threads that have been posted on here recently (as I have already mentioned). You will find despair and frustration from both entrants and quiz-setters.

Can you explain to me please why, when the prizes are hardly life-changing, that so many people feel the need to get other people to answer these charity questions for them? Also, why these lazy people have to ask so many questions and ask them when there is so long to go before the deadline?

I feel your'e lacking support here boysinblue so while I dont agree with all that you say I do support you in the fact that people ask far too many and far too early and are not honest enough to say which quiz it is in the title

If the people giving answers had better memories they would see that a lot of people ask about 6 then a few days later another 6 etc etc and what pleasure they get from that I do not know.

Yes I ask i admit that but if I dont do 90% myself then I wouldn't ask and would hopefullh learn by looking at the answers when they come back

I have not the slightest interest in why folk ask for help, if I am able to provide an answer I will do. What irritates me is folk who make sweeping statements but when pressed, fail to provide the evidence to back them up.

TCL-MUMPING - it's fairly obvious that whatever I say will not sit well with you. You are entitled to your opinion, just as I and everyone else are.

The fact remains that people such as yourself who ignore the pleas of certain quizsetters and answer certain questions are ruining those quizzes, whether they be charity quizzes or otherwise.

Unfortunately, no one can stop you from providing answers - that can only come from your conscience, but your attitude presumably means there is little chance of that happening?

It's up to the person doing the quiz not to ask the question.

You cannot blame somebody for just answering a question!!

Rollo - you've appeared on AB long enough to know exactly what I and many others are talking about. For example, it's been extremely well documented that the quizsetter for GBQ and GFQ has asked/pleaded that his questions are not asked on here and that answers are not supplied.

However, some people (notably "detective") continue to ignore these requests and posts GBQ/GFQ questions and many others answer them.

As one who has asked for answers in the past, perhaps you can tell me what satisfaction you get from being given an answer rather than looking for it yourself?
