I remember a radio show question, but never heard the answer - "Without looking at an atlas, can you name the 3 countries of the world that begin with A but do not end with A?"  Its harder than you think.  I can only get Afghanistan and Azerbijan. What is the 3rd??

Could that be Azores ? It's a group of islands, but I'm not sure if it's a country.

The Azores belong to Portugal, but the only alternative I can offer is Antilles - but these are French or Dutch.

Anam or Annam (Asia) Azores is a country I think

After a Google, I could only find Ashmore and Cartier Islands, would that be classified as a country?

I'm 99.9% sure that there isn't a third, no matter how convoluted the definition of the word "country".  As such, I presume that the original quiz was itself incorrect.
