ctrl alt del to access windows

PC running windows xp not used for long time. Activated today by phoning MS. Have to use ctrl alt delete to reach windows - not always first time and only have use of keyboard at this time. When I switch on goes to screen to select tab for post or alt+F2 for flash utility. Have not a clue what this is as I was donated PC. Sometimes I reach bios setup but I have about 2 secs to do anything as capslock comes on and KB siezes up. Would not know what to do any way. Legacy floppy disk otherwise might have been able to use my Winxp boot disk.Manage to use KB for most moves in windows once there but occaisionally get stuck and I have to switch off PC. Can someone help me to get this PC up and running so I can give to daughter. Any help would be appreciated. It is a Asus PC.

That's fairly normal on some older machines. If you wait, the message should disappear (unless it's accompanied by an error message that you've forgotten to mention). After the message disappears, the machine should go on to boot normally.

thankyou for helping rojash but I'm afraid it is still showing same screen after 15 minutes. Is there any way I can enable floppy disk and perhaps try my bootable xp floppy. I'm becoming quite good at moving around windows with just the KB until I can get hold of USB mouse. I would be grateful for any suggestions.
