incidentally, there is no first "the" in the film title--it is just "birth of the blues"--cheers

If there is no THE as ajmmac says, then either the clue is wrong or the answer is wrong.

not so much that the clue is wrong--tho it seems to be--just a common misconception that there is a 1st THE--the same happens with many films--another example is "the night of the living dead" and its remakes and sequels--proper title has NO 1st the--cheers
